Announcements

The Otago Community Trust is governed by 11 Trustees who are appointed by the Minister of Finance for a four year term. The Trustees collectively hold a range of invaluable skills, experience and knowledge that guide the activities of the Trust. They meet monthly at the Otago Community Trust Offices to consider grant requests, operational items and strategic direction.

The Minister of Finance invites Otago Community Trust to put forward nominations of suitable people to be considered for appointment in 2020. As well as seeking nominations from the Trust, the Minister can also receive nominations directly from any other interested people. To assist the Minister to identify suitable Trustees, expressions of interest on a confidential basis are welcomed from people in the Otago Community Trust region.

The Trust has undertaken a skills audit of the Board and has identified the skills required from new Trustees as being:

  • Investment knowledge
  • Community Governance and
  • Leadership

The Trust will consider all expressions of interest received and will make its nominations to the Minister having regard to the skills of the applicants and their geographical location, noting that the Trustees due to retire in mid-2020 are from the Central Otago region.
