New Medical Centre in Palmerston

The Otago Community Trust $250,000 donation for a new medical centre in Palmerston. The current medical centre is housed in a run-down 90-year-old building which is not suitable for a modern medical practice. A much needed purpose-built facility will improve the provision of health care to patients across a wide area in East Otago, and help to retain doctors and medical services in the area. East Otago Community Health Trust Chair Mary O'Connell welcomed the donation, saying it’s very important to a small rural community to have this level of support.
