Changes to Otago Community Trust’s Capability Funding

Otago Community Trust is pleased to announce changes to its Capability Funding to better support the Otago not-for-profit sector. For several years, capability funding has been available to specific sectors of the community. Following a review of the Trust’s capability development funding including feedback from the not-for profit sector the Trust will now open its capability funding round to more not-for-profit organisations and will offer two funding rounds per year

 

What you need to know:

  • Capability funding is for projects or initiatives that strengthen the organisation itself e.g. investing in training, reviews, policy development or business planning.
  • Capability funding is now available to all sectors except for schools and education providers.
  • Those in the Arts Sector in Dunedin will still be eligible to Dunedin Arts Capability Fund, no changes have been made to this fund.
  • Those in the Youth Sector will still be eligible for the Tamariki and Rangatahi Sector Capability Fund, this fund will now offer two funding rounds per year with closing dates of 31st May and 30th October. Organisations can receive one capability grant per year.
  • All other eligible organisations, including Arts organisations outside of Dunedin, can apply to the Trust’s new Capability Fund.
    • Organisations can apply for up to $5000
    • Two funding rounds per year with closing dates of 31st May and 30th October
    • Organisations can receive one capability grant per year.
  • Organisations can receive a capability grant in addition to any other grant offered by the Trust.
