4Trades Apprenticeship Training Trust

The Otago Community Trust is pleased to be supporting young people and economic development in Otago.

It provided $30,000 to the 4Trades Apprenticeship Training Trust in 2012, to support the training programmes of 55 apprentices in a range of trades throughout Otago.

The Training Trust, managed by the Otago Chamber of Commerce, has proved a very effective way to train trades people, ensuring they and their employers get all the information, support and encouragement they need to complete an apprenticeship. Consequently, it has enjoyed considerable success in supporting the career development of many young people over many years. A considerable number are now working in businesses in the region, and giving back their knowledge as trainers and mentors.
