Barb brings more than two decades of leadership across Aotearoa’s primary health, community health, and social services sectors. Her career began in mental health nursing, grounding her in the realities of frontline care and shaping a leadership style that is both practical and deeply people focused.
As Chief Executive of Corstorphine Baptist Community Trust, Barb leads a diverse range of community-based and residential services supporting adults, rangatahi, and tamariki impacted by mental health and disability. She is driven by a commitment to ensuring services are responsive, inclusive, and genuinely make a difference in people’s lives.
Barb has contributed widely across the sector, serving as a community and NGO representative on various health advisory panels and networks. Her governance experience includes roles with Youthline Otago and school Board of Trustees.
A recipient of a Distinguished Alumni Award from Otago Polytechnic, Barb is passionate about enabling change and creating environments where people can thrive and reach their potential.
Outside of work, you’ll often find her on the football pitch as a referee during winter, or out on her bike or wandering with her camera. She considers it a privilege and a responsibility to be a Trustee at Otago Community Trust.
