Funding from the Otago Community Trust has helped brighten the day for some of the regular clients of The Ladder Trust's community housing in Dunedin.
The Ladder Trust assists with the development of social housing for PACT, which supports people with intellectual and other disabilities and people recovering from mental illness in Otago.
A $20,000 donation from the Community Trust helped refurbish the well-utilised shared lounge in the Ladder Trust's Helensburgh Road flats with new carpet, paint and a big bi-fold door to create a large indoor/outdoor flow. The kitchen and bathroom have also been modernised, and exterior walls insulated. The Community Trust had previously helped out with double-glazing for all the units.
The Ladder Trust can't thank the Otago Community Trust enough for these donations; without this help these renovations would not have been possible.
