Supporting the Attitude Programme in Otago Schools

The Otago Community Trust is pleased to be once again providing funding support to The Parenting Place – Attitude Division’. The $6,000 donation granted in November 2016 will assist with the cost of presenting the Attitude Programme in Otago schools this coming year. The programme for 2017 is entitled 'Being Me' and provides a guide to friends, identity, puberty and technology.

The Attitude NZ programme will begin its Otago programme delivery from March 6 2017. Attitude programmes are a unique mix of information, inspiration and humour, offering young people strategies for solving problems, handling stress, building resilience and negotiating relationships. Some recent feedback from a student who heard an Attitude presentation, provides insight into its impact:

“I can truly say you have crossed our school with a serious message but in a way of relating back to real life situations. Personally I would like to thank you for addressing these serious issues as it has already benefited me in many ways. My first thought as you came into assembly was: “just another one of these speakers….” But you were different – you really shocked me to be honest. You related back to us teens with your personal experience to when you were in college.”
