Singing in the Regions

21 Aug 2014

Staging regional concerts can be costly, which why the Central Otago Regional Choir appreciates regular support from the Otago Community Trust.

The choir performs a spring and autumn series in Queenstown, Alexandra and Wanaka, arranging performances that appeal to as many musical tastes as possible. One of its most notable recent pieces was a”Mass for Peace,” Anzac Day performance.

Community Trust funding helps meet the organisation costs, something that makes all the difference to the choir’s ability to take the performances to the regions without having to rely solely on ticket sales.

The 35-strong mixed choir is very much a regional one – its members coming from Wanaka, Queenstown, Alexandra, and Omakau.  They practice weekly in Cromwell.
