Safe Cycling from Roxburgh to the Dam

A safe track to keep children more off State Highway 8 between Roxburgh and the Lake Roxburgh Village is also proving an interesting deviation for cyclists completing the Clutha Gold trail.

The Otago Community Trust helped fund the 4.4 kilometre track connecting the two Central Otago towns.

The Coal Creek track now gives children a safe place to ride from the village into Roxburgh away from the busy road, it has become a daily routine for local walkers, and it is also being used by the many visitors to the area’s cycleways who have a choice of track on either side of the Clutha River and more access to fruit stalls.
