  • Announcements

The Otago Community Trust is excited to announce that it will be the official sponsor for the Otago Coach of the Year at the ASB Otago Sports Awards this year. The Trust invests over $1 million dollars annually into a variety of sport initiatives right throughout the Otago region, including but not limited to;

  • Regional sports development programmes. These are programmes facilitated by Otago regional sports bodies which retain and increase participation, provide skill development and enhance enjoyment and satisfaction.
  • The Skeggs Foundation. Since 1997 the Otago Community Trust has provided coaching grants to voluntary coaches and officials in Otago who work with emerging high performance athletes. The project financially assists qualifying coaches and officials with expenses incurred in relation to the development of their knowledge and coaching skills.
  • Sporting Events. A variety of regional sporting events from grass roots to world class (i.e., South Island Secondary Schools Triathlon and Duathlon Championship, New Zealand Masters Games, Challenge Wanaka)

Otago has a fine reputation of producing world class sportspeople and we are looking forward to recognising the sporting excellence that we have here in our province in May.

The ASB Otago Sports Awards will be held on the 20th of May 2016.

Nominations are now open and can be made here:  http://www.sportotago.co.nz/99-news/1053-asb-otago-sports-awards-nominations-now-open
