German Messerschmitt 109 Coming to Warbirds

A $10,000 donation from the Otago Community Trust will help bring a German Messerschmitt 109 aircraft from England especially for a special Battle of Britain 75th commemoration at Warbirds over Wanaka 2016. The Messerschmitt will feature in a mock battle, including pyrotechnics, with a Spitfire, both of which were significant in World War two air battles. The event will help to educate about the history of the war, including to the area’s primary schools.
