Central Coast Country Music Association awards 2012
Not only do the Central Coast Country Music Association awards give young South Islanders the chance to realise their talent and perform live, over the 27 years they have been going they have also fostered up-and-coming country stars including Kylie Harris and more recently, Kylie Price.
The Otago Community Trust donated $750 to help stage the society's awards in Oamaru in July 2012, the only country music competition in the South Island dedicated to under 18's, with an under 13 and an under 18 section. The awards have grown dramatically in popularity, the good prize money and over 30 trophies being one of the drawcards for young country musicians.
