Bike Park a Step Closer

Cromwell is set to get a new bike park.

The Otago Community Trust is donating $65,000 towards the multi-use park, which will include areas to learn to ride a bike, a dirt track, a jump park, and BMX track which will be formed using the old outdoor ice skating rink area.

Based in the Neplusultra Street reserve in Cromwell, it is designed to appeal to all ages and abilities, with challenges that will particularly interest teenagers. Being close to town, it will be easily accessible for both locals and holiday makers.

There’s still more funds to raise, but planning is well underway and it’s hoped construction for the park can get underway this summer.
