A New Bus for the Otago Heritage Bus Society
21 Aug 2014
More historic regional buses are being saved thanks to the efforts of the Otago Heritage Bus Society, supported by the Otago Community Trust.
The Society was formed in 2011 to save the last in a 90-year line of British Leyland buses serving Dunedin. Society members restore the historic buses and make them operational; they have saved five buses so far.
The Otago Community Trust has donated funds towards restoring MAN405, the society’s latest restoration project, which was rediscovered in a Canterbury paddock.
The Society organises volunteer-run public transport on Christmas and Easter - so the community can benefit from its bus restoration efforts. The buses are also available to rent for functions and weddings.
