The Otago Community Trust helped set up the Otago Careers Festival seven years ago, and it’s still right behind the month-long event today.

The Festival, which is for people of any age, at any stage in their career, was set up to showcase career opportunities available in Otago. It creates awareness for possible career pathways, and is helping match people to jobs.

Organiser Victoria Muir said the Trust has been a huge help. “Without their support the Festival wouldn’t be happening.”

Attendance for the 2015 event is up, with 13,500 attending the 70 career related events. Nineteen industries were represented in the programme, which included workshops, talks, an expo, business open days, and some new on-line initiatives. Feedback from those attending was very positive.
