Snow Sports NZ FIS Continental Cup, Cardrona Ski Resort, Wanaka
Cardrona Alpine Resort’s world-class slopestyle course and Olympic superpipe will provide a testing ground for New Zealand’s up and coming freeski and snowboard athletes when they compete in the International Ski Federation (FIS) Australia New Zealand Cup next month. Held under the banner of the Cardrona Games, the ANC Cups will give New Zealand and international athletes a taste of top level competition as they prepare to step up to World Cup level events.

A $20,000 donation from the Otago Community Trust will assist the Milton Community Health Trust with a building renovation project to upgrade the support and advocacy hub in Milton – the Tokomairiro Community Hub. The Tokomairiro Community Hub housed in the old BNZ building on the main street of Milton, started with two agencies and has now increased to 14 part-time agencies.

A new touchscreen interactive display is providing a wealth of Otago railway information for visitors at the Toitū Otago Settlers Museum. The new interactive "information station'' includes more than 1000 high-quality old photographs and many video clips, some showing comments by retired railway staff.

The Sunnyvale Sports Centre now over forty years old, is close to having its well-deserved upgrade completed. Staff at the Otago Community Trust visited the centre recently and witnessed first-hand the transformation that is underway. The upgrade includes a spectacular new viewing lounge with bar and commercial kitchen facilities, more office and storage space, a new gymnasium floor and the conversion of the existing lounge into a double squash court that has the potential to be used as a second gym.

Earlier this year Olveston Historic Home collaborated with an education specialist and developed a new initiative to create learning experiences outside the class room. The suite of educational programmes introduces students to "Life in the House". These fully immersive programmes have been hugely popular with students, as they have had the opportunity to explore, enquire and engage with the histories and life at Olveston.
